You won't catch Justin Bieber shedding any tears over Selena Gomez's recent breakup with The Weeknd. On the contrary, the "Sorry" singer is "happy" about the split, and hopes the pop star's separation from the musician will allow for an opportunity to win her back.
"Justin is happy Selena is single. He hopes to regain her trust so they can get back together," a source close to Bieber reportedly told People.
The famously on-again-off-again former couple attracted quite a bit of attention after they were spotted attending church and eating breakfast together in Los Angeles over the weekend, though sources contend the singers are simply catching up as friends. "They have so much to catch up on," People's Bieber source continued. "They dealt with things separately this year that made them different people. It wouldn't be surprising if they got back together."
Gomez, 25, and Bieber, 23, dated intermittently from 2011 to 2015 and recently reconnected after Gomez's kidney transplant this year. "It seems their relationship now is very different," the source noted. "Justin is certainly a much better person. He would be a better boyfriend, too."
Will #Jelena have a second act? Only time will tell with these two.
