Bye-bye, Rapunzel strands—hello, lob! Jessica Simpson got a little scissor-happy over the weekend and took her signature layers into a smooth cut that hit at the collarbone. Her trademark platinum hue, created by her longtime colorist Rita Hazan, remained intact and managed to make her new look appear even more graphic. "I would describe Jessica's hair color as baby blonde," said Hazan, who offered sage advice on going for a similar hue. "Make sure you condition your hair and take good care of it. A deep conditioning treatment like my Weekly Remedy ($42; ritahazan.com) once or twice a week will keep the hair healthy." According to the post by hairstylist Roque Jimenez, it was Simpson who decided to make the dramatic change. "Loving your hair at this clavicle length," he captioned a photo of the star's crop on Instagram. "I'm so glad you asked me to take it shorter than I originally cut it. Yet another reason I adore you, that killer style!"
Though the lob has been gaining celebrity fans as of late, Simpson actually worked a similar look almost four years ago, and tried out a classic bob back in 2006---check out her glamorous transformation for proof. Ever the beauty buff, we're sure the star will continue to experiment with her new length, and we can't wait to see the many ways she'll style her new 'do. "I love primping!" she previously told InStyle. "I even did all my friends for prom."
