Jessica Alba may be a successful actress and entrepreneur but she recognizes the help she received along the way to her achievements.
On Tuesday, the stylish star spoke to more than 70 graduating students of Thomas Riley High School in L.A. at an event hosted by Baby2Baby and presented by Alba's own The Honest Company. In an inspirational speech, InStyle’s July cover girl encouraged the grads—all individuals living below the poverty line and many young mothers—to continue their educations and to pursuing their goals.
“I am here today because I stood on the shoulders of my mom who fought against the odds to invest in me and my future," Alba said. " She inspired me to pursue my dreams and today The Honest Company and Baby2Baby are here to support yours. We applaud your work and congratulate you on this achievement."
Baby2Baby, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit, partnered with Alba’s company—which produces nontoxic baby, home, and beauty products—to provide each grad with diapers, clothing, and “all the basic essentials that every child deserves.”
The actress, in her “power outfit” of a loose blazer and high-waist jeans, posed with graduates at the luncheon after her empowering speech.
