Jessi Klein just lived every grown woman's worst nightmare: getting rid of her 20-something wardrobe. But the deep-dive into sartorial nostalgia was for a good reason—three, come to think of it. In the past year, the comedian and head writer of Inside Amy Schumer moved from New York to L.A., released a book, and had a baby. "My body is pretty unrecognizable to me at this point," Klein jokingly told InStyle over the phone recently. "I realized that you actually have to reimagine what you look like."
Hence the aforementioned closet purge, which inspired a new hilarious ad campaign between Klein and Loft, where she discards a "vaguely brown corduroy skirt," a "green-ish dress from the '90s," a "sad long gray skirt that could be a hammock," and all of her so-called "bar clothes" ("clothes for going to a bar, not barre method," she clarified, then added, "It ended up being really cathartic and fun at the same time").
As for how her style has changed post-baby? Klein says she's embraced an "easy breezy" wardrobe of jeans, button-downs, sweaters, and some dresses. "When you have a toddler, it's probably best not to get too attached to anything that's overly expensive or can't go in washing machines, because you get drooled on a lot," she said. "I would also like to look like an appealing human female in the world. I don't want to look like all I do is laundry, even in my dreams."
