Leave it to former Jackson 5 singer Jermaine Jackson to spill the beans.

Following weeks of unconfirmed reports surrounding pop star Janet Jackson’s alleged pregnancy, big brother Jermaine hit the red carpet at the Power Up, We Are the Future Gala in Beverly Hills, Calif., Thursday night and happily revealed his only sister is, in fact, expecting.

“My sister Janet is my baby. She is fine, but she’s having a baby. A baby having a baby. We look at her like our little baby. And now she’s grown up and she’s having a baby. I’m proud to be an uncle and I can’t wait to see how this baby is going to look,” the 61-year-old star told reporters at the event, moving on to dish on how she’s progressing. “She is feeling fine. Oh my God, Janet loves to eat, but I really don’t know what she’s craving. But I do know that she likes to eat.”

Cravings aside, Jermaine told InStyle he thinks she will be the ultimate mother. “She’ll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict. But I tell her, 'If you need any parenting skills or any baby skills, let me know because I’m the best diaper changer there is on this planet, still to this day,'” he quipped. Though he didn’t confirm whether Janet’s expecting a boy or a girl (“I hope she’s having a girl. We need more girls in the family. There are too many boys,” he told reporters), he did add that she’s due “maybe in the next seven, eight months.”

As for how he plans to support her new journey into parenthood, there’s one specific piece of advice he’s excited to share: “She gotta learn the different cries of a child,” he told reporters. “We know when they are really hurting. We know when they want attention. And we know when they are just playing.” To boot, he also opened up about late brother Michael Jackson’s children, Michael Joseph “Prince,” 19, Paris-Michael Katherine, 18, and Prince Michael II, 14, and whether they’re excited about Janet’s news: “Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah,” he told reporters.

Jackson, who turns 50 on May 16, married billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana, with whom she’s expecting, in 2012 and the two seem to be nothing but in love since. Al Mana has previously described the beauty as his “dream woman” and makes rare, but adorable, appearances on her Instagram feed.
