Jennifer Lopez may be known for her eye-popping outfits (think: navel-deep necklines), but she certainly knows how to play the lady too. The singer-actress, 46, was named the UN Foundation's first Global Advocate for Girl's and Women on Wednesday. And just a few days later she was hard at work at her new duties: She spoke at the foundation's Gender Equality Dinner at the Four Seasons Restaurant in Manhattan on Friday.

For the event, Jenny from the Block covered up in a light peachy pink '50s-inspired ensemble. Starting with a shimmering peach-gold blouse, she added a layered chiffon peach skirt and salmon pink stillettos. She completed her uber feminine look with her hair pulled tightly in a ballerina bun, and had makeup to match: peachy cheeks and coral glossy lips. Not to be ignored, beau Casper Smart, 28, was at her side for the event, in a sleek azure suit, a polka-dotted shirt, brown boots, and cool gold rimmed shades (above, right).

Lopez proudly held up her honorary plaque on the red carpet (above), and later she said: "I am happy to be joining the UN Foundation and eager to lend my voice and ensure that all girls and women are safe, healthy, educated, and empowered."

J.Lo founded the Lopez Family Foundation with her sister in 2010, working to improve the health and well-being of women and children. It's no surprise that she was appointed to the UN advocacy role after her dedication to the cause!
