Jennifer Garner is going to play Agatha Christie's most famous amateur detective, Miss Marple! While Christie wrote the character as an elderly woman living in the fictional English village of St. Mary Mead, Disney is revamping the story to feature a younger, present-day Marple, Deadline reports. (Wardrobe update!) Marple was first played on the big screen in 1961 by Dame Margaret Rutherford, and Angela Lansbury took over the role in the 1980 film The Mirror Crack'd, which also starred Elizabeth Taylor. So far it's unclear whether Garner's film will be based on a particular Christie novels, but we do know that the screenwriter is Mark Frost, whose previous credits include Fantastic Four and TV’s Twin Peaks. We're excited to see the Alias star put her sleuthing skills to work again!
