Jennifer Aniston was honored with a lifetime achievement award at the Giffoni Film Festival—the largest film festival for children in Europe—in Italy's small, southwestern town of Giffoni Valle Piana on Saturday.
Aniston, 47, went with a sophisticated summer look for the event and dressed in a flowy, asymmetrical black dress with small white polka dots and a subtle keyhole cutout above her navel. Strappy bright red sandals, hoop earrings, and a high messy bun completed the actress's Mediterranean look.
Hundreds of kids from around the world attend the annual event, which included a Q&A session with Aniston, this year's guest of honor and recipient of the Giffoni Experience Award. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aniston (who recently penned a powerful blog post addressing tabloid culture) became visibly emotional when a teenage girl asked if she ever wakes up in the morning not knowing who she is. Aniston's answer was a definitive yes.
"There are not enough fingers and toes in this entire room to count how many times that moment has happened to me," she replied, with tears in her eyes.
"And also know that your actors, your idols, your icons, whatever you call them, have all had that experience in their lives many, many times," Aniston continued. "There's nothing that separates us from you because we all started at the same place. We all came out of nowhere. Don't punish yourself if you feel that. Go talk to people and seek help and always find something to inspire you."
