"This collection was little bit Edie Beale goes to Girl Scouts Camp. There's an influence of the olives, clipboards, the utilitarian, funny hats, flowers stuck in the hair, fishbone braids and moccassins, but all paired with sequins!" Jenna Lyons, J. Crew's uber stylish creative director told us of the inspiration behind her quirky, always-fun fall looks. From blazers covered in over 20 brooches, to layers that seem to have piled up over days, the message was clear—more is more! Lyons said the trick to pulling off this overdone look now is not to be afraid: "The most important trick is mixing textures—wear something shiny with something rumpled and broken down. If it's fluffy, pair it with silky. Play with olives—if you have never worn olive and you are afraid, buy one piece (like cargo pants) and wear it with your favorite pinks!"
