Now that's one haute entrance.
The Atelier Versace fall/winter 2014 show kicked off Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week yesterday, but it was Jennifer Lopez who stole the spotlight. She nearly upstaged the show itself when she arrived in a look from the very same collection—before it had even walked the runway. In what can be described as a gown-pant hybrid, the singer's Atelier Versace creation featured a metallic-accented white strapless gown with a thigh-high slit that revealed one (only one) beaded pant leg. Atelier Versace jewelry and silver sky-high Versace platforms were the finishing touches.
But this isn't the only instance of a skirt-and-pant sighting this year—in fact, it looks as though the trend is on the rise. Emma Watson tried the look in a backless Dior gown that she wore over trousers at the 2014 Golden Globes, and Olivia Palermo wore a Carolina Herrera bridal ball skirt over tailored shorts to her civil ceremony in late June.
Regardless of whether the trend will actually take, there's no question that Lopez pulled it off remarkably well.
