The photography team of Markus Klinko and Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri know what it takes to make an icon—so they rounded up a retrospective of their most memorable images, and put them in their new book Icons: The Celebrity Exposures of Markus + Indrani ($25, Running Press, out this month). "It’s not just fame," French-Hungarian photographer Markus Klinko told InStyle.com of what it takes to make an icon. "There’s definitely the ability to create a timeless presence—that’s the secret of the iconic photo or the iconic person. Like a good wine, with time it becomes something else." And if you look at the pair's images, their subjects all fit the bill: Lady Gaga, Kate Winslet, Diane Kruger, Eva Mendes, and Beyoncé posed for the duo for images that, in Klinko's words, "border the line between fantasy and reality." Click through the gallery to learn more about collaborating with the Icons from Markus, and shop the book (which honors the duo's 18th anniversary of working together) on amazon.com.
