Today, we're honoring what would have been Grace Kelly's 86th birthday. The Oscar-winning actress and Princess of Monaco remains one of Hollywood's most timeless beauties, and we're paying tribute by looking back at her most striking moments.
The Philadelphia-born actress got her big break with the film, Mogambo, in 1953, which became her first critically acclaimed work and earned her a Golden Globe statue and an Academy Award nomination.
In the years following, Kelly won both a Golden Globe and an Oscar for her work in 1954's The Country Girl and soon became one of Hollywood's most adored actresses (not to mention Alfred Hitchcock's muse). She was also well-known for her roles in Dial M for Murder, To Catch a Thief, Rear Window, and her final film, High Society.
After marrying Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956 after meeting at the 1955 Cannes Film Festival, Kelly retired from acting. She and her Prince had three children: daughters Caroline and Stéphanie, and son Albert. While she lived a short life, passing at age 52, Kelly's legacy as one of Hollywood's most sophisticated stars remains. Take a look back at 10 of the icon's most striking images.
