We can't get over how amazing Cate Blanchett always looks on the red carpet, and this awards season has been no exception. Having already nabbed several crucial trophies this year, including "Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama" at the Golden Globes this past weekend, and "Best Actress" at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards last night for her role in Blue Jasmine, Blanchett is well on her way to Oscars glory.
But the real question on our minds is, what will she wear? A bicycle helmet, if the actress has her way. "I'm thinking of some cycling gear for the Oscars. You know, the helmets," the actress (in Lanvin) quipped to InStyle at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards. However, she quickly had a better idea. "Maybe I'll leave that to the men. I mean, Jared Leto has great legs. Maybe he should do cycling wear!"
When it comes down to it, Blanchett believes the red carpet is all about enjoying yourself and representing yourself through fashion. "It should be fun. I mean, if you take it all too seriously the whole fun goes out of it," she stated. "You never expect to be standing here, and when you are, you're just the luckiest gal or guy. It's been an extraordinary year for cinema, and I never take that for granted. But the rest of it should be fun."
