Franchise fans, today is our lucky day. First came news that Anne Hathaway was on board for Princess Diaries 3, and now Harrison Ford has signed on for the fifth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise. The last film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, came out in 2008, and 73-year-old Ford was reportedly itching to put the infamous hat back on.
Steven Spielberg will direct the untitled fifth installment, which will hit theaters July 19, 2019, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” Disney chairman Alan Horn said in a statement.
We’re loving this news almost as much as Jones hates snakes.
