Hailee Steinfeld is a fully-initiated member of Taylor Swift’s squad, and the “Love Myself” singer recently dished on how often these besties really stay in touch when they’re spread across the globe. The star stopped by Britain’s Radio1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw, where she told the host about catching up with her fellow squad members and what really happens at those crazy reunions.
“It’s so crazy being all over the world at the same time and rarely being in the same place at the same time. But it’s so much fun to stay in contact and find each other along the way and all get caught up,” she said. While she hadn’t heard of the messaging app WhatsApp, she did say they try to all keep in touch.
“When we are all together, it does feel like it’s a big reunion, and it normally happens to be when we’re all dressed up and look a lot nicer than we normally do, so it’s a lot cooler,” the 19-year-old actress said, possibly referring to that epic VMAs appearance where the squad joined Swift as she took home the Moonman for “Bad Blood.”
“It was so much fun. It was really so cool to be a part of,” she said of making the video. “It was weird because it went from, obviously, an idea that Taylor wrote and said, ‘I have this idea, call me.’ And I was, ‘Yo, what’s up? I’m in the middle of dinner. How’s it going?’ And she was like, ‘Oh I’m making this music video.’ I was like, ‘Okay, I’m in. Whatever it is, count me in.’”

“It kind of, I mean crazy enough, felt like a day that we were hanging out and we kind of were like, okay it’s time to go to set now, we did our little thing, and now we’re done,” Steinfeld said. “It’s nice to sort of have people that get what it is that you’re doing.”
Thanks, Hailee, for the major case of FOMO.
