Google is the latest company to get on the girl power train: Employees of the worldwide brand are proposing an expansion of the emoji keyboard to include women portrayed in a wide range of professions, from doctors to engineers, teachers to chefs.

On Tuesday, a handful of Google employees submitted a proposal for 13 new characters to the Unicode Consortium, an organization that oversees the creation of new emojis. “We believe this will empower young women (the heaviest emoji users) and better reflect the pivotal roles women play in the world,” the proposal states.

The proposed new emojis would represent the fields of business, healthcare, science, education, technology, industry, farming, food service, and music, and would include both male and female emojis for each category.

The best part? Google would like for the new additions to be standard by the end of this year, meaning we won’t have much longer to wait if they are accepted. Here’s to hoping that girl power gets the win.
