It's been a big year for Diane von Furstenberg. In January, she celebrated the 40th anniversary of her famed wrap dress; in March, it was announced that she will be the subject of a new reality show on E!; in April, the 5th annual DVF Awards took place in New York City. And now the iconic designer has created stylish eyewear frames for Google Glass.
Google will unveil the limited-edition line of DVF frames tomorrow. Included are three eyeglass frames in brown, black, and purple, and two sunglass frames, both of which feature the DVF logo on the top right corner. Google is selling a limited, undisclosed quantity of the Diane von Furstenberg frames on net-a-porter.com and mrporter.com.
You may remember that von Furstenberg was an early supporter of Google Glass. In fact, the then-unheard-of gadget debuted at her spring 2013 runway show, where she and all of her models wore one on the runway. The videos collected from the cameras of the Glasses were then turned into a short film titled "DVF [Through Google Glass.]"
As for Google, this isn't their first foray into designer-Glass partnerships. In March, they announced that they were partnering with luxury eyewear manufacturer Luxottica to create Ray-Ban and Oakley frames.
The Diane von Furstenberg Google Glass frames will be available in limited quantities on June 23 at Net-A-Porter.com and MrPorter.com. Until then, keep up with the designer by checking out celebs wearing her designs in our gallery!
