It’s not just Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) who looks incredibly put together and ultra professional on every episode of The Good Wife. Diane Lockhart (played by Christine Baranski) has a different but equally elegant work style, which has been cultivated by the show's award-winning costume designer Dan Lawson.
On last night’s episode, Lawson dressed Lockhart in what he calls, “one of my favorite outfits of all time,” a houndstooth coat-and-skirt ensemble by Akris, and finished the look with a bow-topped cream silk blouse himself. “This breaks the mold of using a traditional suit jacket,” he explains to InStyle. “The blouse and skirt can stand on their own, but when this additional layer is added, it’s the epitome of chic.”
Your tip: Think about your outerwear when you’re putting together your work outfit. Match it to your skirt or blouse to take your look to the next level. “Mastering this look shows you’re completely confident and ready to take on the world,” says Lawson.
