Move over, Thin Mints, because the Girl Scouts just revealed two new cookie flavors for the 2017 season, and they just might be your new faves. Today, on National S’mores Day, the Girl Scouts introduced two new S’mores-inspired treats to commemorate 100 years of selling cookies—and modernized their offerings by creating their most health-conscious cookies yet.
The two new varieties offer different takes on the campfire treat, which they take credit for popularizing as early as the 1920s. The first is a crispy graham cookie dipped in crème icing and coated in chocolate—and it’s totally vegan, free of artificial colors, preservatives, and partially hydrogenated oils.
The second, a graham sandwich cookie with a chocolate and marshmallow filling, contains dairy, but is free of artificial flavors and colors, high fructose corn syrup, and hydrogenated oils. Like all other Girl Scout cookies, they’re kosher and free of trans fats.
“As we approach the 100th anniversary of the first known sale of cookies by Girl Scouts, it only seems natural to celebrate it with a new cookie flavor that ties to our heritage and captures the adventurous, take-charge, and civic-minded spirit of our girls,” Sylvia Acevedo, Interim CEO of the organization, said in a release.
The new cookies will be available in January 2017, along with a lineup of your longtime favorites.
