Before Cersei Lannister’s flowing blonde mane returns to Game of Thrones on April 6, the real-life actress, Lena Headey, can be spotted showcasing her naturally dark strands on the red carpet. For the show's premiere in New York City, celebrity hairstylist Mark Townsend created a choppy look that was just as edgy as Headey’s Jenny Packham number.
To achieve the star's wavy texture, Townsend recommends applying a large dollop of Dove Oxygen Moisture Leave In Foam ($7; drugstore.com) to damp hair, using your hands to scrunch dry under a diffuser. “I love keeping as much of Lena's natural wave in the hair and this foam doesn't weigh the hair down or get crunchy and it gives the hair tons of volume,” he tell us. Giving her bob cut a more modern twist, he created a deep side part, spritzing Sally Hershberger Salon Texture Blast Spray ($10; hsn.com) allover for added texture and hold. After braiding one side, Townsend then laid the braid on top of the hair's back portion, tucking the ends in underneath. A few drops of Dove Dry Oil Nourishing Treatment ($12; drugstore.com) provided the star's high-shine finish.
