Frances Bean Cobain offered the world an exceedingly rare taste of her musical talents over the weekend. The 23-year-old daughter of Courtney Love and late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain took to Instagram with a short clip of herself singing the chorus of the Jimmy Eat World hit "The Middle."

The short video (below) begins with Cobain referencing her Fred Flintstone shirt ("Fred Flintstone, what up!?") before breaking into four seconds of the song's chorus while she strums an acoustic guitar. The tease is far too brief, but it's obvious she has skills. And how could she not? She's rock-and-roll royalty.

The cover even managed to get the approval of Mom, who reposted the video on her own Instagram account along with a sweet message to her daughter. "I know your father is very proud of this as am I baby," she wrote. "I love you to the moon and back #proudmommy"

Despite having a rocky relationship in the past, the mother-daughter pair have grown closer in recent years and both contributed to the first authorized Kurt Cobain biography, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck. Perhaps a musical collaboration is in their future?
