Margot Robbie may have debuted a dramatically shorter 'do this Sunday, but what really caught our attention was her fiery bold lip. In her second awards season, the now veteran wowed yet again, accentuating her black Saint Laurent gown with a punch of orangey-red. Makeup artist Tyron Machhausen explained, "We were inspired by old Hollywood glamour and wanted to make a statement. It's the Oscars, after all!" For Robbie's pout, Machhausen opted for Hourglass' fire-engine Raven hue, first lining lips with the brand's Panoramic Long Wear Lip Pencil ($28; sephora.com). The pro followed by sweeping on the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick, also in Raven ($10; sephora.com).
The rest of the actress’ makeup was kept minimal, allowing her lip to remain the focal point. To ensure makeup stayed put for the biggest awards night of the year, Machhausen prepped skin with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer ($18; sephora.com), then applied Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup in Honey & Beige ($60; sephora.com) for a flawless finish, and worked Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer in Sand ($32; sephora.com) onto her under-eye area. For Robbie’s sculpted cheekbones, Machhausen contoured with the brand’s Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light ($45; sephora.com), and swept the Luminous Light ($45; sephora.com) over the top as a highlight. The pro went easy on the eyes as well, accentuating Robbie’s arches with Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Blonde and Soft Brunette ($32 each; sephora.com), a simple slick of Hourglass 1.5 mm Mechanical Gel Eyeliner ($16; sephora.com) to the inside of the lash line, and several coats of Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara ($28; sephora.com) to top lashes only.
