Today, we're celebrating what would have been Farrah Fawcett's 69th birthday. The darling star may have been known for her role as Jill Munroe on Charlie's Angels, but it was her girl-next-door style and demeanor that earned her a place in everyone's hearts.

Fawcett's feathered hairstyle also resulted in a cultural phenomenon. In fact, her hairstylist, Allen Edwards, once revealed women began wanting "the Farrah" 'do and as a result, "were lining up down the street." Consider that the Farrah effect!

The actress—who hailed from Corpus Christi, Texas—got her start as a model and in 1976, landed the coveted role in Charlie's Angels, which in turn garnered her a Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a television series. What followed next was her iconic one-piece Norma Kamali red swimsuit photo shoot that single-handedly sold more than 12 million copies and doubled as her big Hollywood break.

Fawcett continued her acting career with award-nominating roles in projects including The Burning Bed, Extremities, and Small Sacrifices.
