Emma Watson needs your help—she needs everyone's help. On Saturday, the brunette beauty rocked headlines when she delivered a tremendously moving speech at the HeForShe campaign launch, the first of its kind at the United Nations, as the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador. It was a call to end gender equality, and to do so, both men and women need to be advocates for change.
"I have realized that fighting for women's rights has too often become synonymous with man-hating," Watson stated. "If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that this has to stop. For the record, feminism by definition is: 'The belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. It is the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes.'"
Her powerful words may have resonated with us, but so did her equally powerful wardrobe choice. She wore a heather gray Dior coat dress (that she accessorized with Eva Fehren jewelry and a Mary Katrantzou clutch) that was invariably chic in many ways, with its sharp tailoring, asymmetric hemline and metallic belt. Given the occasion, her sartorial selection was incredibly sophisticated and frankly, right on-point. Conservative, yes, but also admirably strong and respectable.
For the HeForShe VIP after-party, Watson continued her sophisticated streak with a black Boss mid-length design that boasted subtle-yet-alluring sheer panels on the back and skirt. She added interest with gold Jennifer Fisher earrings and choker, a playful emerald green M2Malletier top-handle clutch, Roger Vivier pumps, and a bold red lip. Stunning!
