It's Emma Thompson's birthday! The British actress celebrates her 56th year today. Best known for her work in Love Actually, Nanny McPhee, and Sense and Sensibility, among other film titles, Thompson has raked in countless award nominations, including two Oscar wins (one of which was for Best Adapted Screenplay for Sense and Sensibility---she can do it all!) and recently scored the iconic role of Mrs. Potts in the live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.
Not only is the star a seasoned thespian, but also a comedian, as we found out in Prince Charles's book Charles: Heart of a King. "I would get periodical messages from the boys that look after him at Highgrove saying: '[Could you] drop him a note because he's a bit low in the water,' so I'd pick up my pen and write as funny a letter as I could think of," Thompson has said. We never would have guessed!
