Sir Elton John is a married man! The iconic singer tied the knot on Sunday with long-time partner David Furnish in an intimate ceremony. Their sons Zachary, 3, and Elijah, 23 months, served as little ring bearers. The ceremony took place exactly nine years after they entered a civil partnership together.
Not social media shy, the couple shared photos on Instagram during the ceremony with the hashtag "#sharethelove". On Saturday, the couple had invited the world to join in on their special day by posting invites on their Instagram accounts.
"Sir Elton John and David Furnish request the pleasure of your company to celebrate their wedding on Sunday the 21st of December," read the invite. John had also Tweeted about the big day earlier in the week.
Both John and Furnish were dressed in matching dark suits, as were their sons, and John completed his look with a pair of sunglasses. Zachary snapped an adorable pic of his baby brother holding on to Dad's leg during the ceremony (below) while holding a cute stuffed rabbit.
The couple decided to wed after England's legalization of same-sex marriage in March. "We shouldn't just say, 'Oh well, we have a civil partnership, we're not going to bother to get married," he said.
Guests at the nuptials included David and Victoria Beckham, as well as their son Brooklyn, musician Ed Sheeran, Elizabeth Hurley, and Hugh Grant. Brooklyn wrote, "Amazing day with family and special friends congratulations Uncle Elton and Uncle David #ShareTheLove."See more photos from the wedding below!
