Drew Barrymore celebrated the release of her book Wildflower ($28; amazon.com) yesterday by sharing a sweet throwback photo of her and her mother, Jaid. While the photo is completely adorable, her caption makes the Instagram moment even more touching.
"Today I wrote a book. And as I thank and celebrate many women this week, I must say a huge thank you to my mother," she wrote in the post, which shows a young Drew in pigtails sitting on her mother's lap (below). "As I say in the acknowledgments, 'thank you for my life. I am ever so pleased to be here!' We have had quite a road, but it is paved with gratitude."

It's no secret that the mother-daughter duo has had a difficult past. Barrymore was emancipated at 15, but they've come a long way, especially since the actress became a mother to daughters Olive and Frankie. In fact, Barrymore told us in InStyle's November issue that the book was written for them: "I want this book to be a love letter to my daughters."
