Who says haute couture is too fantastical for the real world? Not Diane Kruger, who wowed on the pink carpet at the New York City Ballet fall gala on Tuesday night at Manhattan.

For the A-list affair, the 40-year-old actress turned to a mid-sleeve, ivory floral Giambattista Valli haute couture dress that appeared flawless on the runway but looked even better on the actress.  Kruger paired the piece, which highlighted her toned gams, with silver strappy heels and a black studded clutch and tied her hair back in a tousled low ponytail.

Diane Kruger got sweet and girly at the New York City Ballet’s 2016 Fall Gala in a pretty puffy-sleeved floral-print dress that she styled with strappy metallic Brian Atwood sandals.

As for what went down past the doors of Lincoln Center, the star appeared to have had nothing but fun with friend Katarina Maxianova. She shared a selfie from the inside on Instagram.

She so cute 😘 @katkamaxi #nycballet #adventuresinthecity
