Season 19 of Dancing with the Stars premiered last night, and Karina Smirnoff took to the ballroom with her new dancing partner, MMA champion and Expendables 3 actor Randy Couture. "Dance is something people don't think of when they think of me," he said in the behind-the-scenes video accompanying the duo's smooth foxtrot performance.

For their outfits, Smirnoff drew inspiration from the film LA Confidential and Old Hollywood glamour to evoke the sophistication and elegance their song "The Way You Look Tonight" called for. The dancer opted for a silk dress with a plunging neckline, back, and high slit, while Couture donned a three-piece suit. "I wanted the feeling of a woman heading out on the town with her husband or boyfriend to a Broadway show or romantic dinner," Smirnoff exclusively tells InStyle.

The dancing duo earned a 31 out of 40 last night, behind Fresh Prince alum Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson, who topped the list with a 36 out of 40. Tune in tonight at 8 p.m. ET on ABC for the live results show.
