Last September, San Francisco-based handbag and apparel company Cuyana set up a Los Angeles pop-up shop on uber-hip Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice. Originally scheduled to run for one month, its popularity landed it a permanent spot on the street, next to the yummy Blue Star Donuts and fashion brand Current/Elliott. The 1,000-square-foot boutique, full of "fewer better" things, showcases a selection of Cuyana's high-quality, timeless leather totes, wallets, and travel cases, in addition to its pared-back clothing line—and we’d like one of everything!
A favorite of InStyle editors (you’re bound to find one of us carrying a zipper tote, envelope clutch, or laptop sleeve on any given day), one of the best parts of Cuyana’s classic leather goods is the price: It’s one of the few brands to offer accessible luxury. Cuyana's classic tote made of Italian leather—which comes in colors like black, caramel, stone, coral, red, and bronze—is priced at just $175.
The boutique also offers monogramming on-site, so you can personalize your new bag with your initials, or a cute symbol like a star, heart, clover (or a combo of all three). The gold foil imprint adds that extra-special pop to your new purchase.
The shop is arranged like an atelier, where you can preview its ready-to-wear collection: luxe cashmere cardigans, silk blouses, and wool coats, plus accessories like hats and alpaca scarves. Try them on, fawn over them, and then place your order through the store.
This spring, you’ll find pastel versions of the staple leather goods (think: mint, blush, and lavender) so stop by the boutique and stock up on their seasonal supply.
