After 16 years, NBC may set out to revive the late '90s classic Cruel Intentions with an updated TV series.

When the original film ended, we were left with Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon's character) driving away from Sebastian Valmont's (played by Witherspoon's first husband, Ryan Phillippe) funeral, but the surprising twist that we never saw coming: Hargrove was carrying Valmont's son.

The now-16-year-old son, Bash Casey, would be the star of the upcoming series. Viewers will get to watch the teenager go from rags to riches as he leaves his small town life for a boarding school in San Francisco. He also discovers his father's journal and uncovers the truth behind his family's hidden legacy.

The original director and writer have both made a commitment to the TV show, so here's hoping the comeback happens!
