Katy Perry's 2015 Super Bowl halftime performance is going to be a tough act to follow, but if anyone can do it it's this year's headliners. The Wall Street Journal broke the news today that Coldplay will perform during the 2016 show, and it's safe to say we'll be counting down the days until it takes place.
The British rock band has been around for a while, but that doesn't meant they're not with the times. Their latest album, A Head Full of Dreams (which drops tomorrow) features a bevy of today's hottest stars, including Beyoncé, Rihanna, and even Gwyneth Paltrow and Blue Ivy. One of the already-released singles off the album, "Hymn for the Weekend," includes vocals from Queen Bey and was inspired by Flo Rida, so they'll be no shortage of dance-worthy tunes during their halftime performance.
It was rumored that Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars were also in the running for this year's spot.
The Super Bowl airs on Sunday, Feb. 7 on CBS. Don't miss it!
