We've all heard the old adage that blondes have more fun, and if you ask Christina Hendricks, the statement holds true. The perennial red head recently ditched her signature hue in favor of lighter, sun-kissed streaks, and she is having a blast as a blonde.
"I'm loving it. It's been so fun," Hendricks told InStyle on Wednesday at an event to celebrate the Mad Men-inspired Birchbox. "I mean, I think everyone knows when you get a fresh haircut or you change your color, it sort of gives you a different attitude or gives you a little spring in your step. So after 20 years of one color, it's fun to be something new. I like it a lot."
As it turns out, this isn't the first time Hendricks has experimented with her hair. The Mad Men actress first dyed her tresses when she was only 10 years old. The hairdresser? Her mom. "My mom has always—beauty and fashin wasn't really of importance to my mother, but she was fun with it," the actress said. "She was the first person to put hair color on my hair when I was 10 years old. But it was never taken too seriously. It was always with the idea that it should be fun, that we were playing. So I guess I've always taken that with me is that fashion and beauty should be fun, and you should experiment."
