He's back! The 2016 Academy Awards just got a whole lot crazier—Chris Rock is officially returning for a second time as Oscar host. The Academy Of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences confirmed the news this morning after speculation arose earlier this week, and expressed their excitement at his second run with the gig. Rock also shared the news on Twitter. The comedian previously hosted the 77th Academy Awards in 2005, where some criticized him for being over-the-top.

"Chris Rock is truly the MVP of the entertainment industry," said David Hill and Reginald Hudlin, the show's new producers, in a statement this morning. "Comedian, actor, writer, producer, director, documentarian—he’s done it all. He’s going to be a phenomenal Oscar host!"
