I wonder if Charlotte Rampling, shown here at the 48th Annual Academy Awards in 1976 with actor Anthony Hopkins, could ever have imagined that she would be nominated for Best Actress almost 40 years later (for her haunting performance as a long-married wife in 45 Years). She began her career as a model in the '60s—and landed a Nars cosmetics campaign last year at age 69! Her breakout role as an actress was in the film Georgy Girl, opposite Vanessa Redgrave in 1966. Unlike so many other actresses of that era, she has allowed herself to age naturally. Her confidence transcends superficial, ageist Hollywood standards, making her all the more beautiful and sexy. Bravo!
