When Charli XCX throws a party, you know it’s going to be wild. Last night, the British “Boom Clap” singer celebrated the launch of her collection for U.K. high-street brand Boohoo.com in New York City, and her signature fun-loving style took over Williamsburg hotspot Villain in a major way. There was something outrageous to see wherever you turned, from arcade games and mechanical bulls, to candy stations and dancers on stilts. And, of course, there was plenty of dance-worthy music to enjoy.
That's because Joe Jonas hit the DJ booth, playing more than an hour of beats that had the audience singing along. While Jonas was busy Snapchatting his view of the event from the stage, his band, DNCE, watched from the upstairs balcony. The group later joined him on stage just to hang, although they didn’t perform. But the night’s leading lady sure did. After Jonas’s set wrapped up, Charli rocked out to a few of her hits on stage, wearing an all-black ensemble from her new collection.
The pieces—which Charli first debuted during a duet with Taylor Swift earlier this month—were on display throughout the venue, and guests continued to check them out and play games after Charli’s performance was over. Then, everyone headed outside, only to be greeted by a waiting food truck—perfect for grabbing some late-night snacks for the road.
