Céline Dion's husband, Réne Angélil, has lost his battle with cancer. The singer's longtime manager and mentor was 73 years old.
"Rene Angelil, 73, passed away this morning at his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer," his rep told People. "The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment." Dion also released the same statement on her official Facebook page.
Angélil battled three bouts of cancer. He is survived by the couple's three children, 14-year-old René-Charles and 5-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy, as well as his children from a previous marriage Anne-Marie, Patrick, and Jean-Pierre. Dion and Angélil met when the singer was just 12 and married in 1994. The couple celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary last month.
Our thoughts are with Dion, their children, and the rest of Angélil's family and friends.
