Selena Gomez isn't wasting any time embracing Instagram's new video feature. The social media platform announced today that it'll extend the length of videos shared by users. "In the last six months, the time people spent watching video on Instagram increased by more than 40 percent. As part of our continued commitment to video, you’ll soon have the flexibility to tell your story in up to 60 seconds," the company wrote on its official Instagram page.
To kick things off they enlisted Gomez to create one of the first extended videos on the platform, and the pop star used the opportunity to give her followers a glimpse into a recent recording session. "So insta has 60 sec vids now... also new stuff coming," she wrote alongside the 60-second clip, which shows Gomez filming different aspects of her time in the studio. From the looks of the way she edited the video, she used the new feature for iOS, which allows users to make videos out of multiple clips from the camera roll.
But the best part? She shared a clip of a new song. Watch it below, and stay tuned to your Instagram feed to see when you'll be able to post longer videos—the feature is rolling out over the next few months.
