As the host of the 2015 CMA Awards, we already knew Carrie Underwood had many outfit changes in store, so a radiant makeup look that complemented each of her wardrobe changes was key. "For Carrie, I wanted to create a take on Old Hollywood glam," says her makeup artist Melissa Schleicher. "I incorporated a more vibrant color palette for a youthful yet elegant look." An appropriate move for sure—we love how the vibrant tones stood out on their own, but didn't compete with any of the 8 outfits she wore over the course of the night. After creating a flawless canvas with Almay's Smart Shade Skintone Matching Makeup ($14; ulta.com), Schleicher picked up the Smart Shade Concealer ($10; ulta.com) for any areas that needed a little extra love, then moved on to the eyes. She used the Intense i-Color Evening Smoky Shadow for Hazel Eyes ($8; ulta.com) all over the star's lids, and after tracing her upper and lower lashes with the Classic Eye Liner in Black ($8; ulta.com), the pro stacked the Smoke and Mirrors Lashes in New York and Dolly ($14 each; smokeandmirrorsbeauty.com), finishing with a few generous coats of mascara.

Schleicher set the star's complexion with alight dusting of the Clear Complexion Pressed Powder ($13; ulta.com), and used the Smart Shade Bronzer ($12; ulta.com) in tandem with the Smart Shade Powder Blush ($12; ulta.com) to impart a lit-from-within finish, concentrating the pink shade over the apples of her cheeks. Ensuring the lip wouldn't clash against any of Underwood's gowns for the night, a layer of Almay's Smart Shade Lipbutter in Nude-Light ($7; ulta.com) served as the final touch.
