There's really no question about it: the fashion label Carolina Herrera has become synonymous with classic elegance. And judging by the fact that the designer was dressed to the nines in her showroom during bridal fashion week (she wore a pink tweed skirt set with nude cap-toe Chanel sling-backs), that level of sophistication is something Herrera practices in real life. But for her bridal fall 2016 collection, Herrera took a different approach, experimenting with contemporary silhouettes, out-there colors, and playful detailing.
A crop shell top and a matching skirt were treated with the teeniest bit of pink and sage green, a corseted number boasted just a whisper of the two shades, a pleated dress interspersed layers of gray and white tulle, and deep-V necklines were cut with scalloped edges. Of course, there were plenty of traditional options, like white lace, skin-skimming dresses and ivory ball gowns, too.
The overall effect? Something old and something definitely new. See the entire Carolina Herrera fall 2016 collection, ahead.
