Camila Alves is many things: wife to Matthew McConaughey; mother to three adorable kids, Levi, Vida, and Livingston; TV personality; and creator of lifestyle blog Women of Today. Now, she’s adding a new endeavor to her impressive list of accomplishments: co-founder of Yummy Spoonfuls, an organic baby food company.
Inspired by their own fresh, organic meals growing up, Alves and her partner Agatha Achindu set out to make delicious, nutritious meals more accessible to families with kids. In order to reach the masses, the duo teamed up with Target, who will begin selling the small-batch, flash-frozen food in almost all stores on June 12. (Fellow mom Reese Witherspoon showed her support for the brand on Wednesday at an outdoor bash in Beverly Hills.)
Yummy Spoonfuls, which is available in a whopping 31 flavors (like Butternut Squash and Peas, Chicken Broccoli Bites, and Only Apple), comes in three stages designed specifically for babies four to nine months old, babies nine months and older, and toddlers who are just starting to feed themselves.
“We know our guests want to make choices that are better for themselves and their families, especially as they start on the journey of parenthood,” says Anne Dament, Target’s senior vice president of grocery merchandising. “We believe that Yummy Spoonfuls has the potential to redefine healthy eating for a new generation and will be embraced by busy parents who are looking for fresh, organic, baby food without the hassle of making it themselves.”
