A diamond-encrusted watch may be one of those wish-list items that sadly may never get crossed off your list, however, you don’t have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to see one up close. Last night in New York, fashion and jewelry lovers alike rushed to Manhattan’s Bulgari flagship store to join the iconic Italian brand’s group of leaders for a glitzy 40th year celebration of Bulgari Bulgari watches and all of the gilded timepieces that have come to fruition since their inception.
Set inside the accessory house’s Fifth Avenue location, Bulgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin and Bulgari North America President Daniel Patridge paid homage to the ‘70s groove of the pieces and together cut a larger than life cake with the brand’s signature logo and additional pieces of metallic décor.
Multi-colored, leather strapped watches with ornate detailing were on display (below), some of which are finalists at the Geneva Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie, the Olympics of the watchmaking world.
And while the high-security pieces were just to be seen for one night, you can get a taste of the luxury with Bulgari & Rome: Eternal Inspiration, a separate exhibition now on display through Nov 22. that highlights some of the brand’s most distinguishable creations. Take a look at some of the look-but-don’t touch baubles below.
