We're about to be treated to an overload of Britney Spears.
Just days ahead of the release of the superstar's ninth studio album Glory, Lifetime has announced that they are developing an original movie based on the pop icons's life and career. Aptly titled Britney, the two-hour biopic will tell the "tumultuous story" of her rise to fame at a very young age, her eventual fall from grace, and her now triumphant return to the spotlight.
The plot line will include almost every major moment that has taken place in Spears's 34 years on earth, including her time as a young girl in Louisiana, very public relationship and breakup with Justin Timberlake, the fallout she experienced after her parents' divorce, her marriages to Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline, and the downward spiral that caused her to be placed under her father's conservatorship. And never fear, Britney fans—the film will also touch on the battle she fought to rebuild her career that led her to the incredible and extremely successful place that she's in today.
But who will play Ms. Spears? Aussie native Natasha Bassett has been cast in the role.
Production is set to begin on the film next month, and it will premiere in 2017.
