The self-proclaimed tomboy, who is known to whip up her own beauty products, enjoyed the on-set pampering and dished that she doesn't indulge in manis very often. "Shailene was really into the orange nail polish," says manicurist Ashlie Johnson, who picked the lacquer's hue to complement the actress's colorful Dolce & Gabbana cover ensemble (below) along with the rest of Woodley's editorial. "It also matched with her adventurous spirit."
Makeup artist Mélanie Inglessis also took cues from Woodley's bold floral dress for the star's beauty look. "I wanted Shailene to look fresh and beautiful for the cover," she says. "A pop of color is very trendy right now, and totally suits Shailene's fun personality." To balance the vivid the summer-ready shades, Inglessis kept the rest of her makeup light and earthy.
Think the hues paired together are too much? Think again. The double splash of color is more than complementary and makes for one eye-catching combo. You can recreate the look at home with the same products Woodley's team used on set: Chanel’s Le Vernis Nail Colour in "Holiday" ($27; chanel.com) and Lancôme’s Rouge in Love high potency lip color in "Rose Me Rose Me Not" ($29; lancome-usa.com)—which Inglessis suggests is best applied using your ring finger rather than with the tube.
