The 2016 CMT Music Awards are just a few short weeks away, and now we know some of the country’s biggest stars that will take the stage. The first round of performers announced today includes names like Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett, and Chris Stapleton.
Staying true to awards shows’ love of putting old and new artists side-by-side, Shelton will perform alongside the legendary Oak Ridge Boys, while Urban will collaborate with his tourmates Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris.
Performer Chris Stapleton is up against Carrie Underwood and Cam for the video of the year category, and all three top the list of nominees at the fan-voted awards show with three nods each. Fans can vote now at CMT.com to determine the winners for video of the year.
Stay tuned for what’s sure to be a star-studded red carpet and one heck of a show on June 8 at 8 p.m. ET. Maybe Shelton’s life-saver of a girlfriend Gwen Stefani will even join him in walking the carpet. It would sure be cool if she did.
