Blake Lively indeed delivered many Cinderella moments when she made her grand red carpet arrival at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival in a standout selection of Versace, Atelier Versace, and Vivienne Westwood couture gowns. But was channeling the Magic Kingdom’s beloved royal her intention? Not exactly.

Showcasing just how down-to-earth she truly is, the pregnant star took to Instagram after her unforgettable outings and revealed who she turned to for her South of France fashion and beauty inspo. “Everyone thinks I was inspired by the princesses. If only the knew,” she wrote as the caption to a picture in which she makes a goofy face for the camera, holds up glittery nail polish, and, above all else, unearths the secret to her red carpet formula.
