Remember Bindi Irwin? She's the adorable young daughter of late crocodile hunter Steve Irwin. And now, she's all grown up.
Irwin flawlessly demonstrated how to work a dark lip and kohl-lined eye in her most recent Instagram post. She captioned the photo, "To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don't need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself."
This isn't the first time the 16-year-old has become a part of the beauty conversation. Irwin stirred up some controversy last year when she urged young girls to "dress their age." She said in an earlier interview, "I look around at a lot of young girls that are my age and they're always trying to dress older. Whether it's wearing revealing clothes or hardly wearing any clothes at all, I feel really bad for them. It kind of has the opposite effect in some ways … it kind of does the opposite where it makes you look younger and like you're trying too hard."
While we can understand her intentions were noble, the sentiment comes off judgmental and veering a bit too close to slut-shaming.
It seems, though, that a year can make all the difference. If "being yourself" means wearing beautiful makeup, so be it. If you want to dress a certain way, go for it. Irwin is transforming into a beautiful woman, inside and out.
