If Lady Gaga really does live for the applause, 2015 has been a banner year for the Grammy winner. On top of getting engaged to Taylor Kinney, performing at the Oscars and starring in season five of American Horror Story, the 29-year-old pop star was just named 2015's Woman of the Year by Billboard.
According to the magazine, Gaga was chosen based on her "industry leadership, artistry, philanthropy, innovative contribution to music, and inspiration to millions."
The appreciative singer took to Twitter to celebrate with plenty of emojis and to thank Billboard for the honor.
I can't believe @billboard named me Woman of the year thank you so much 💗💗💗💗💗😔 I am so so so so grateful. My gosh good morning! ☕️— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) September 29, 2015
The mother monster succeeds two-time Woman of the Year honoree Taylor Swift. Gaga will receive the honor at Billboard's Women in Music event, which will air on Lifetime Dec. 18.
