Apple cider not your thing? Try embracing the fall season with a cocktail that matches the colors of the changing leaves. This simple variation on the traditional whiskey sour, courtesy of Clover Club, an inventive craft cocktail lounge in Brooklyn's Cobble Hill neighborhood, calls for a float of red wine for an added layer of complexity. "When executing the float, let the cocktail sit for about five seconds after you strain it to allow it to settle," advises head bartender Tom Macy. "Then use a bar spoon to slowly float the wine and it will rest neatly on top." Served in an elegant coupe glass, this one's sure to impress any guest that walks through your door.
