Fans of My Best Friend’s Wedding should start saying a little prayer: The beloved rom-com could be coming to TV.

ABC has given a script commitment plus penalty to a half-hour comedy based on the 1997 film directed by P.J. Hogan and starring Julia Roberts as love-shy food critic Julianne Potter and Dermot Mulroney as her “best friend,” Michael O’Neal.

According to ABC, the series would pick up right where the film left off, as Julianne navigates her life in New York City, with best friend—and occasional stand-in fiancé—George as her guide.

The original film’s writer Ron Bass will write the script with Jessica Amento. Jerry Zucker and Janet Zucker, who produced the original, will executive produce with Bass and Mike Menchel.

One question remains: Will Julianne and Michael actually be having that “hot affair” twice a year?
